Domain whois: days left, registrar, TRABİS .tr. Paste a URL.
Whois servers
The query leaves on port 43 to the registry for that TLD. Unknown TLDs start at IANA. Frequent queries are cut off.

What does whois show?
Whois is the old port-43 directory for registrar, creation and expiry, and sometimes nameservers. This tool sends the name you type (a pasted URL is stripped to the host) to the TLD server: .com/.net to Verisign, .tr to TRABİS, unknown suffixes via IANA first.
On a registered name the card highlights days left and the registrar. GDPR and privacy hide person and email on most gTLDs; that is not a bug. The raw text sits below.
TLD chips and .tr
Chips for .com, .net, .org, .com.tr, .io, .de and .eu rewrite the suffix. example.com:8443 or https://www.example.com.tr/path is accepted; www is dropped.
.tr and .com.tr go to TRABİS (whois.trabis.gov.tr). Do not miss renewal. Registrar lock and DNSSEC DS are not always in the whois lines.
Thin whois and privacy
Verisign .com is thin: the registrar name is there, personal data sits on the registrar whois. If expiry or registrar is missing, this tool asks that server once. Rate limits exist here and at the registry.
Available only means whois said “no match”; it is not a purchase guarantee. Register an available name in the OwnHost cart (my.ownhost.net); price and stock are confirmed there. Creation date is a weak age/reputation signal.
Name servers and RDAP
If NS is missing in whois, DNS lookup still shows NS records. Some TLDs prefer RDAP; this tool speaks port 43.
The query leaves from this Linux host. Whois is not a title deed; disputes go through the registrar and the courts.
Frequently asked questions
Why a separate server for .tr?
TRABİS is the local registry. Port 43 whois.trabis.gov.tr is used.
Is whois privacy legal?
On many gTLDs it is the GDPR default. Contact goes through a registrar ticket.
Why does creation date matter?
Age is a weak reputation signal. New names are scanned more often.
No name servers in whois?
Some TLDs keep NS in RDAP. The DNS lookup tool still shows NS records.
What is the rate limit?
Whois servers cut off frequent queries. This tool also throttles; wait a moment.
Where do I register an available name?
Buy at OwnHost on the result card opens the my.ownhost.net cart with that name. IPTOOL does not sell domains; payment finishes there. Whois “available” is not a reservation.
